Description

Garlic Bread Biscuits are a delicious fusion of classic flaky biscuits and buttery garlic bread. They’re soft, savory, and packed with garlic-herb flavor—perfect as a side for soups, pasta, or any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk (plus more if needed)
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Garlic Butter Topping:
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in garlic, parsley, and Parmesan (if using).
  5. Add buttermilk and gently mix until dough just comes together. Do not overmix.
  6. Turn out dough onto a floured surface. Pat into a 1-inch thick rectangle and cut into rounds or squares.
  7. Place biscuits on the prepared sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Meanwhile, combine melted butter, garlic, and parsley for the topping.
  9. Brush biscuits with garlic butter immediately after baking. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use self-rising flour and skip baking powder/soda for quicker prep.
  • Substitute dried herbs if fresh aren’t available.
  • To make ahead, freeze unbaked biscuits and bake directly from frozen, adding 2–3 minutes to baking time.
