Description
Fried Cheese-Stuffed Doritos are crispy, gooey, and outrageously fun snacks made by stuffing creamy cheese between crushed Doritos and frying them to golden perfection. A bold, cheesy twist on fried snacks that’s perfect for parties or game days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz block mozzarella cheese (or cheddar), cut into 1/2-inch thick squares or sticks
- 2 cups crushed Doritos (any flavor)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs mixed with milk, and one with crushed Doritos.
- Coat each cheese piece first in flour, then dip in egg mixture, then press into crushed Doritos to coat well. For extra crunch, repeat the egg and Doritos steps.
- Place coated cheese pieces on a plate and freeze for 30 minutes to help prevent cheese from leaking while frying.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the cheese-stuffed Doritos in batches for about 1–2 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use flavored Doritos like Nacho Cheese, Cool Ranch, or Spicy Sweet Chili for different variations.
- Freezing the cheese is key to keeping it from melting too fast while frying.
- Serve with dipping sauces like marinara, ranch, or spicy mayo for extra flavor.
- Try using pepper jack or smoked gouda for a flavor twist.
