Description

A rich, glossy stir fry sauce made with simple pantry ingredients, perfectly balanced with savory, sweet, and aromatic flavors, ideal for vegetables, noodles, or protein.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, water, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil until smooth.
  2. Place a small pan over medium heat.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture into the pan while stirring gently.
  4. Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly until it thickens and becomes glossy.
  5. Taste and adjust if needed by adding a bit more sweetness or water.
  6. Pour over your stir fry and toss to coat evenly.

Notes

  • Always stir the sauce before cooking since cornstarch settles at the bottom.
  • Adjust thickness by adding a little more water if needed.
  • Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best flavor.
  • Add chili flakes if you want a spicy kick.
