- 1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the top off the French bread loaf and hollow out the inside, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges. Set the bread pieces aside to use for dipping.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in the thawed and drained spinach, and fold in the chopped green onions if using.
- Spoon the spinach dip mixture into the hollowed-out French bread loaf, packing it in tightly.
- Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and cover loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dip is hot and the bread is lightly toasted.
- Remove from the oven, uncover, and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes to brown the top of the dip slightly.
- Serve immediately with the reserved bread pieces for dipping, or with fresh vegetables or crackers.
Notes
- For extra flavor, sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the dip before baking.
- You can use fresh spinach instead of frozen, but be sure to cook and chop it first.
- If you prefer a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream and use reduced-fat cream cheese.
