Description

This Easy & Cheesy Chicken Parm recipe is the ultimate comfort food — golden, crispy chicken breasts smothered in marinara sauce and loaded with gooey mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. It’s hearty, flavorful, and perfect for a cozy family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup avocado oil (for frying)
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides. Pound slightly if too thick for even cooking.
  3. Dredge chicken in flour, dip into beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat avocado oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken breasts until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3–4 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place fried chicken breasts on top.
  6. Spoon remaining marinara sauce over chicken, then sprinkle generously with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden and chicken is fully cooked through (internal temp should reach 165°F/74°C).
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with pasta, salad, or garlic bread.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular Italian-style.
  • You can prep the chicken ahead of time and bake just before serving.
  • Great with spaghetti, fettuccine, or even zucchini noodles for a lighter option.
