Description

These Easy Air Fryer Apple Fritters are a deliciously cozy treat made gluten-free, with tender apples, warm pumpkin spice, and a lightly crisped outside thanks to the air fryer. They’re quick to make, healthier than deep-fried versions, and perfect for fall snacking or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pumpkin spice

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin spice.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs with vanilla extract, melted butter, and lemon juice.
  3. Peel, core, and dice the apples into small chunks. Add them to the wet mixture and stir.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a thick batter forms. Do not overmix.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C) and line the basket with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop spoonfuls of batter into the air fryer basket, spacing them slightly apart.
  7. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove and let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with glaze.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Fuji for best texture.
  • You can add chopped nuts or raisins for extra flavor.
  • If the batter feels too thick, add 1–2 tbsp milk or apple cider.
  • These fritters are best eaten warm but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
