Description

A rich and creamy fudge infused with the unique flavor of Dr Pepper and the crunch of pecans, making it a decadent Southern-inspired treat perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Dr Pepper (reduced to 1/2 cup)
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans (toasted)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, reduce the Dr Pepper over medium heat until it measures about 1/2 cup. Add sugar, butter, and salt, stirring until smooth.
  3. Attach a candy thermometer and bring mixture to soft-ball stage (234–240°F).
  4. Remove from heat, quickly stir in chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Fold in toasted pecans gently, making sure they are evenly distributed.
  6. Pour mixture into prepared pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Let fudge set at room temperature, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Always reduce the soda first to concentrate the flavor.
  • Toast the pecans for extra depth of flavor.
  • Cut fudge with a hot knife for clean, sharp edges.
  • Store pieces separated by wax paper to avoid sticking.
