Description
Dollywood Cinnamon Bread is a soft, pillowy loaf coated in buttery cinnamon-sugar topping, baked until golden and gooey. It’s a theme park favorite that you can now enjoy fresh from your own oven.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 teaspoon yeast
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 1/2 cups bread flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup warm water
For the topping:
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup or agave syrup
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast with a pinch of sugar in warm water and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine bread flour and butter. Add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms, about 6–8 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- Punch down the dough and shape into a loaf. Place in the prepared pan.
- Mix together the melted butter, corn syrup (or agave), brown sugar, and sugar to create the topping.
- Generously brush or drizzle the topping mixture over the loaf, making sure it soaks into the dough and coats the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and baked through.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
- This bread is best enjoyed warm, fresh out of the oven.
- Serve with extra melted butter or cream cheese glaze for a true Dollywood-style experience.
- You can double the topping for an extra gooey loaf.
- If you like stronger cinnamon flavor, add 1–2 teaspoons cinnamon to the sugar topping.
