Description

Dollywood Cinnamon Bread is a soft, pillowy loaf coated in buttery cinnamon-sugar topping, baked until golden and gooey. It’s a theme park favorite that you can now enjoy fresh from your own oven.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup warm water

For the topping:

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup or agave syrup

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast with a pinch of sugar in warm water and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine bread flour and butter. Add the yeast mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  5. Punch down the dough and shape into a loaf. Place in the prepared pan.
  6. Mix together the melted butter, corn syrup (or agave), brown sugar, and sugar to create the topping.
  7. Generously brush or drizzle the topping mixture over the loaf, making sure it soaks into the dough and coats the top.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown and baked through.
  9. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

  • This bread is best enjoyed warm, fresh out of the oven.
  • Serve with extra melted butter or cream cheese glaze for a true Dollywood-style experience.
  • You can double the topping for an extra gooey loaf.
  • If you like stronger cinnamon flavor, add 1–2 teaspoons cinnamon to the sugar topping.
