Description

This Dill Pickle Cheese Ball is a savory, tangy appetizer that combines the creamy goodness of cheese with the zesty flavor of dill pickles. It’s a perfect dip for crackers or veggies at your next party or gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 2 tablespoons pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill (optional, for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup chopped dill pickles (optional, for garnish)
  • Crackers or veggies for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped dill pickles, and pickle juice. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  2. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  3. Form the mixture into a ball shape and wrap it in plastic wrap.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the cheese ball to firm up.
  5. Once chilled, remove from the fridge and roll the cheese ball in the chopped fresh dill and extra dill pickles for garnish, if desired.
  6. Serve with crackers, fresh veggies, or pretzels for dipping.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.
  • Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • If you don’t like dill pickles, you can substitute with bread-and-butter pickles for a sweeter flavor.
  • Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like gouda or cream cheese for variety.
