Description

Deep Fried Marshmallows are a fun, gooey, and indulgent treat that combines the crispy golden shell of fried dough with the soft, melted center of sweet marshmallows. Perfect for fairs, parties, or a playful dessert night!


Ingredients

  • 12 large marshmallows
  • 1 cup pancake mix or all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk (adjust as needed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep saucepan to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together pancake mix (or flour), milk, egg, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth to create a thick batter.
  3. Skewer each marshmallow with a toothpick or small skewer.
  4. Dip marshmallows into the batter, coating them completely.
  5. Carefully place the battered marshmallows into the hot oil. Fry for 20–30 seconds, or until golden brown, turning as needed.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use frozen marshmallows for a firmer center after frying.
  • Try rolling the fried marshmallows in crushed graham crackers or cinnamon sugar for a s’mores-style twist.
