Description

A comforting slow cooker meal made with smoky kielbasa sausage and tender green beans simmered in a buttery, savory broth. Simple to prepare and full of cozy flavor, this dish is perfect for busy weeknights or make-ahead dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced
  • 1 ½ pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 whole garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the slow cooker insert.
  2. Trim the green beans, slice the kielbasa, and slice the onion.
  3. Add the green beans to the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Layer the kielbasa, onion, garlic cloves, butter, salt, and black pepper over the green beans.
  5. Pour the chicken broth evenly over the ingredients.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the green beans are tender.
  7. Gently stir before serving to coat everything in the buttery broth.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use low sodium chicken broth if you prefer a less salty dish.
  • Fresh green beans give the best texture, but frozen can be used if needed.
  • Leftovers taste even better the next day as the flavors deepen.
