Description

A rich and hearty slow cooker chili made with ground beef, beans, and bold spices, simmered to perfection for a comforting and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 cup kidney beans, drained
  • 1 cup black beans, drained
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Set the slow cooker to low heat.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook ground beef until browned. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  3. Transfer the cooked beef mixture into the slow cooker.
  4. Add kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and beef broth. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3 hours.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Slightly mash some beans for a thicker consistency if desired.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Browning the beef first enhances the overall flavor.
  • For a thicker chili, mash a portion of the beans before serving.
  • Add a little extra broth if the chili becomes too thick during cooking.
  • The flavor improves even more the next day.
