- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 cup ketchup
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
- Buns or rolls for serving
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer cooked beef to a crockpot.
- Add finely chopped onion and red bell pepper to the crockpot.
- Stir in ketchup, brown sugar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Mix everything thoroughly, cover, and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.
- Stir occasionally during cooking to combine flavors.
- Serve hot on buns or rolls, optionally with pickles or cheese slices.
