Crispy Gochujang Cauliflower Wings are a bold and flavorful plant-based snack or appetizer. These cauliflower florets are baked or air-fried until perfectly crispy, then tossed in a spicy, sweet, and sticky gochujang sauce that packs a delicious Korean-inspired punch.

- 1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup plant-based milk (or regular milk)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional for extra crispiness)
- 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil the air fryer basket.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, then coat with panko breadcrumbs. Place on prepared baking sheet or air fryer basket.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, or air fry for 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over low heat, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Transfer crispy cauliflower to a large bowl and toss with the warm gochujang sauce until well coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.
Notes
- For extra crunch, broil the wings for 2–3 minutes after tossing in sauce.
- Adjust gochujang and maple syrup amounts to balance heat and sweetness.
- Great as an appetizer, game-day snack, or meatless meal.
