Tender chicken simmered in a rich, velvety ranch cream sauce with garlic and herbs. This comforting dish is simple to make and perfect for serving over rice, pasta, or vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1½ pounds chicken pieces
- 1 packet (about 1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet over medium heat so it is ready for cooking.
- In a mixing bowl combine heavy cream, softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning mix, minced garlic, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir until smooth.
- Add butter to the skillet and allow it to melt completely.
- Place the chicken pieces in the skillet and cook for several minutes until lightly golden on the outside.
- Pour the creamy ranch mixture over the chicken and reduce the heat. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes until the chicken is tender and the sauce thickens.
- Stir gently during cooking to keep the sauce smooth and evenly coat the chicken.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top and serve warm.
Notes
- Allow cream cheese to soften before mixing so the sauce becomes smooth.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, stir in a small splash of cream.
- Serve over rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes to enjoy the creamy sauce.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
