Description

Creamy Gochujang Pasta is a spicy, savory, and velvety fusion dish that combines the bold, umami-rich flavor of Korean gochujang with a luscious cream sauce. This quick and comforting meal delivers the perfect balance of heat, sweetness, and creaminess in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your choice)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp honey or sugar (optional, to taste)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Stir in gochujang and cook for another minute to toast it slightly.
  4. Reduce heat to low and add heavy cream, milk, soy sauce, and honey (if using). Stir to combine into a smooth sauce.
  5. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and incorporated.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Use reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Serve immediately while hot and creamy.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of gochujang depending on your spice tolerance.
  • Use plant-based cream and milk for a vegan version.
  • Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or protein like shrimp or chicken for variety.
