Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your choice)
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp honey or sugar (optional, to taste)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in gochujang and cook for another minute to toast it slightly.
- Reduce heat to low and add heavy cream, milk, soy sauce, and honey (if using). Stir to combine into a smooth sauce.
- Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then add Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and incorporated.
- Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Use reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve immediately while hot and creamy.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of gochujang depending on your spice tolerance.
- Use plant-based cream and milk for a vegan version.
- Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or protein like shrimp or chicken for variety.
