Description
This Creamy Garlic Parmesan Salmon is a rich and flavorful dish that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner yet elegant enough for entertaining. Pan-seared salmon fillets are smothered in a luscious garlic parmesan cream sauce, infused with Italian herbs and a touch of onion for depth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 salmon fillets (4–5 ounces each, skin on or off)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup minced onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream or half and half
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning or oregano
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets, skin side down if applicable, and cook for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and just cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium. In the same skillet, add butter and minced onion. Sauté until softened and translucent, about 2–3 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the heavy cream and Italian seasoning. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Return the salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes until heated through.
- Serve warm with extra sauce spooned over each fillet.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a squeeze of lemon juice to the sauce before serving.
- Pair with pasta, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
- If you prefer a lighter dish, use half and half instead of heavy cream.
