Description

Homemade Copycat Crispy Chicken Nuggets with a golden, crunchy coating and juicy, tender chicken inside — the perfect comfort food you can make in minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup fine breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until it reaches 350°F.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. In another, whisk eggs with milk. In a third, combine panko and fine breadcrumbs.
  3. Line a plate with paper towels for draining cooked nuggets.
  4. Coat chicken pieces first in seasoned flour, then egg wash, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to help coating stick.
  5. Fry nuggets in batches for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove nuggets to the prepared plate and let rest for 1–2 minutes to keep them crispy.
  7. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces while warm.
