- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 large egg
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add the egg, softened butter, and salt. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up tightly and slice into 1-inch bites. Place in the prepared dish.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- While warm, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make glaze. Drizzle over the bites and serve.
Notes
- Let the glaze sit for 2 minutes to slightly set before serving.
- Use room temperature butter for easy spreading.
- Refrigerate leftovers and reheat in oven for best texture.
