Description
Cinnamon Apple Chips are a healthy and naturally sweet snack made by baking thinly sliced apples until they’re crisp and delicious. Sprinkled with cinnamon, they’re perfect for guilt-free munching or lunchbox treats.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (such as Fuji or Honeycrisp)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional: 1 teaspoon granulated sugar or coconut sugar (for extra sweetness)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Wash and core the apples. Slice them very thinly (about 1/8 inch) using a sharp knife or mandoline.
- Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the baking sheets, making sure they don’t overlap.
- In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar (if using). Lightly sprinkle over the apple slices.
- Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, flipping the slices halfway through, until the apples are dry and crisp.
- Let cool on the trays—they will continue to crisp as they cool. Store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Choose firm apples for the best texture when baked.
- For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of nutmeg or a drizzle of lemon juice before baking.
- Great as a topping for oatmeal, yogurt, or salads.
