Ingredients

- 2 jalapeños, stems removed (seeds removed for less heat)
- 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup chopped white onion
- 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp water (as needed to thin)
Instructions
- Add jalapeños, cilantro, garlic, onion, lime juice, olive oil, and salt to a blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- If the salsa is too thick, add water 1 tablespoon at a time to reach desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust salt or lime juice as needed.
- Serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes to let flavors meld.
Notes
- Use more or fewer jalapeños depending on your spice preference.
- Add avocado for a creamier texture.
- Great as a marinade for chicken or shrimp as well.
