Description

These fluffy chocolate pancakes are rich, indulgent, and studded with melty chocolate chips. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even dessert, they’re easy to make and guaranteed to satisfy every chocolate lover’s craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Combine wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and oil (or melted butter) until smooth.
  3. Make batter: Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are fine. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Cook pancakes: Heat a lightly greased skillet or griddle over medium heat. Pour 1/4 cup batter for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set, about 2–3 minutes. Flip and cook another 1–2 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Serve: Stack pancakes on plates and serve warm with syrup, whipped cream, or extra chocolate chips if desired.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter or pancakes may turn dense.
  • For extra indulgence, drizzle with chocolate sauce or Nutella.
  • Substitute milk with almond, oat, or soy milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Pancakes can be frozen and reheated in a toaster or microwave.
