Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and mashed banana. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

- Use extra ripe bananas for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
- For a nuttier twist, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the dough.
