- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 fresh red chilies, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
- Pat chicken wings dry and season with salt and white pepper.
- Coat the wings evenly with cornstarch, shaking off excess.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry wings in batches for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate pan, heat a little oil and sauté minced garlic, sliced chilies, and green onions until fragrant.
- Toss the fried wings in the sautéed aromatics and sprinkle with five-spice powder and additional salt and pepper if desired.
- Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
