Description

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken cutlets, pounded thin
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F or heat skillet over medium heat if pan-frying.
  2. Set up three shallow dishes: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Lay each chicken cutlet flat, spread with Dijon mustard, top with ham and cheese, then roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  4. Coat each roll in flour, then dip in egg, and finally cover with breadcrumbs.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes or pan-fry in butter until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  6. Remove toothpicks and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
