Description

A creamy and cheesy pasta bake made with tortellini, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper.
  4. Stir in the cooked tortellini until evenly coated with the sauce.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with extra mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add ground meat or sausage to the sauce before mixing with the tortellini.
  • Feel free to use a different type of pasta, like rigatoni, for a variation on this dish.
