- 1 lb potato gnocchi
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 lb ground beef or pork
- 1 cup marinara or tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup red wine (optional)
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Cook gnocchi according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add ground beef, cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Pour in marinara sauce and red wine (if using). Stir in oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine cooked gnocchi and Bolognese sauce, then transfer to prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian version, substitute meat with cooked lentils or mushrooms.
- Add crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Leftovers reheat well in the oven or microwave.
