Description
Cheesecake Croissant Buns are an indulgent fusion of flaky croissants and creamy cheesecake, rolled into beautiful swirls and baked to golden perfection. They’re soft, sweet, and perfect for brunch, dessert, or a luxurious snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry or croissant dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for tang)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth and creamy.
- Unroll the puff pastry or croissant dough on a lightly floured surface. Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the entire surface.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log, then slice into 1.5-inch thick rounds.
- Place each round flat-side down on the baking sheet, spaced slightly apart.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
Notes
- For added flavor, sprinkle cinnamon or lemon zest over the filling before rolling.
- You can add fresh berries or a spoon of jam inside the swirl before baking.
- Best served warm, but can be stored in an airtight container for 2–3 days.
- Try drizzling with a simple glaze for an extra-sweet finish.
