Description

Cheeseburger Tater Tot Nachos are a fun, savory twist on classic nachos. Tater tots take the place of chips and are topped with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, pickles, and all the delicious flavors of a cheeseburger in nacho form.


Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen tater tots (about 24 oz)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup pickles, diced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the tater tot package instructions. Spread tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake until golden brown and crispy, about 20-25 minutes.
  2. While the tater tots are baking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook, breaking the meat apart, until browned and fully cooked, about 7-8 minutes.
  4. Once the tater tots are done, remove them from the oven and spread them out on a large serving platter or baking dish.
  5. Top the tater tots with the cooked ground beef mixture, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced pickles.
  6. Return the nachos to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Drizzle with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise, if desired. Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For extra cheesiness, add a layer of cheese between the tater tots and ground beef.
  • Feel free to add other burger-inspired toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, or bacon.
