Description

Cheeseburger Stuffed Tater Tot Cones with Colossal Cheese Volcano are a fun and indulgent snack or party appetizer. Crispy tater tot cones are filled with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and topped with a gooey ‘cheese volcano’ for a cheesy explosion of flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 frozen tater tots
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup pickles, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 12 small waffle cones or similar cones (edible or reusable cones for shaping)
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Spray waffle cones lightly with cooking spray and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange frozen tater tots around each cone to form a cone shape and bake for 20–25 minutes or until crispy and golden.
  3. Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in half the cheddar cheese and pickles if using.
  5. Once tater tot cones are crispy, carefully fill each cone with the cooked beef mixture.
  6. Top each filled cone with shredded mozzarella and remaining cheddar cheese to create the ‘cheese volcano.’
  7. Return cones to the oven for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve warm with ketchup and mayonnaise on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Use mini waffle cones from a specialty store or shape your own with parchment paper.
  • Try adding diced jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef for a spicy kick.
  • Great for game day, parties, or kid-friendly snacks.
