Description

Caramel Crunch Oyster Crackers are an addictive sweet snack made by coating crunchy oyster crackers in a buttery caramel glaze and baking them until golden. Perfect for parties, gifting, or a fun twist on traditional caramel corn.


Ingredients

  • 1 (10 oz) bag oyster crackers
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 120°C (250°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place oyster crackers in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly.
  4. Once boiling, stop stirring and let it bubble for 3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla extract. The mixture will foam slightly.
  6. Immediately pour caramel mixture over the crackers and stir gently to coat evenly.
  7. Spread coated crackers in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  9. Let cool completely before serving or storing in an airtight container.
