- 1 ball pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/3 cup pizza sauce or crushed San Marzano tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
- 2–3 tsp Calabrian chili paste or chopped Calabrian chilis
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Optional: burrata or ricotta dollops, grated Parmesan
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
- Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface into a 10–12 inch round.
- Transfer dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza peel.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the base.
- Top with shredded mozzarella, roasted red pepper strips, and Calabrian chili paste (dollop or swirl).
- Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle garlic powder over the top.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Remove from oven, top with fresh basil and optional burrata or Parmesan. Slice and serve hot.

- For more heat, add extra Calabrian chili or crushed red pepper flakes.
- Use naan or flatbread for a quick version.
- Pairs well with a drizzle of honey for a sweet contrast to the heat.
