Description
Juicy button mushrooms sautéed in a buttery garlic sauce, finished with herbs and a splash of lemon for the perfect savory side dish.
Ingredients
- Button Mushrooms: 500 grams
- Unsalted Butter: 3 tablespoons
- Garlic Cloves: 4, finely minced
- Olive Oil: 1 tablespoon
- Fresh Parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Black Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon, freshly ground
- Lemon Juice: 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- Preheat Your Equipment: Heat your skillet over medium heat for a minute or two until warm.
- Combine Ingredients: Add olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Once the butter is melted and begins to foam, toss in the mushrooms.
- Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Stir occasionally, letting the mushrooms release moisture and begin to brown. Avoid stirring too frequently.
- Assemble the Dish: Once the mushrooms start to get color, add the minced garlic and the remaining tablespoon of butter.
- Cook to Perfection: Continue cooking for 2–3 more minutes until the garlic is fragrant and the mushrooms are golden brown on the edges.
- Finishing Touches: Season with salt, pepper, lemon juice, and stir in the fresh parsley right before turning off the heat.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve hot, either on their own, as a side, or spooned over toast, steak, or pasta.
Notes
- Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure mushrooms brown properly.
- Add garlic after mushrooms start browning to prevent burning.
- Finish with a sprinkle of chili flakes for a spicy kick.
- Use a mix of mushrooms for more complex flavor.
