Description
This Burrata Caprese Pizza is a flavor-packed twist on the classic Caprese salad, featuring creamy burrata, juicy cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, and a nutty pesto base on a crispy golden crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1 large ball burrata cheese (about 4 ounces)
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- A handful of fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup pesto sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- A pinch of sea salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper
- All-purpose flour for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- Halve the cherry tomatoes, tear the basil, and let the burrata come to room temperature.
- Dust a piece of parchment paper or pizza peel with flour. Roll out the dough into a 10–12 inch circle.
- Spread pesto sauce over the dough, top with cherry tomatoes, and drizzle olive oil.
- Transfer the dough to the hot stone or sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes or until the crust is golden and tomatoes are roasted.
- Remove from the oven, tear the burrata over the hot pizza, and top with basil, salt, and pepper.
- Slice and serve immediately while the cheese is creamy and warm.
Notes
- Let the burrata sit at room temperature before using so it spreads easily.
- Use a pizza stone or steel for best crust texture.
- Warm pesto slightly to make it easier to spread evenly.
