- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- For the Brownie Layer:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For the Pecan Pie Topping:
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups pecan halves or pieces
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Set aside.
- Make the brownie layer: In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugars, eggs, cocoa powder, flour, salt, and vanilla until smooth. Spread the brownie batter evenly into the bottom of the prepared pie crust.
- Make the pecan topping: In a separate bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir in the pecans.
- Carefully spoon the pecan mixture over the brownie layer in the pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden and slightly cracked. If the crust browns too quickly, cover the edges with foil.
- Cool completely before slicing. Serve as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Use dark corn syrup or maple syrup for a deeper flavor twist.
- Let the pie cool fully to allow layers to set properly before slicing.
- Can be made a day ahead and stored at room temperature or refrigerated.
