  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat browned butter with granulated and brown sugar until well combined.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix thoroughly.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies 2 inches apart.
  7. Lightly flatten each dough ball for even baking.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  9. Whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth to create icing.
  10. Spread icing on cooled cookies and top with chopped pecans if desired.
  11. Let icing set for 10–15 minutes before serving.
