Description

  • 1 egg (for brushing the top, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and lightly grease or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. Make a well in the center and add the olive oil (or melted butter) and milk (or water). Stir until a dough forms, then knead the dough for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a round loaf or flatten it into a disk for a rustic bread.
  5. If desired, lightly beat the egg and brush it over the top of the dough for a golden finish.
