Description

Boozy Chocolate Brownie Cherry Bombs are decadent bite-sized treats made by wrapping rich brownie around liqueur-soaked cherries, then dipping them in chocolate. Perfect for parties, holidays, or whenever you want an adults-only indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients required on the box: eggs, oil, water)
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries with stems, drained (about 2530 cherries)
  • 1/2 cup cherry liqueur (such as Cherry Heering, Kirsch, or Amaretto)
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or shortening (for melting chocolate)
  • Optional: sprinkles, crushed nuts, or sea salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. Drain maraschino cherries and place in a bowl. Pour cherry liqueur over them and soak for at least 1 hour (or overnight for stronger flavor). Pat dry before using.
  2. Prepare and bake the brownie mix according to package directions. Let cool completely.
  3. Once cooled, crumble the brownies into a large bowl, removing any overly crispy edges. Mix until the texture is dough-like.
  4. Take a small amount of brownie mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a soaked cherry in the center and wrap the brownie around it, forming a ball. Repeat for all cherries.
  5. Place the brownie cherry bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill in the fridge for 20–30 minutes.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips with coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  7. Dip each brownie cherry bomb in melted chocolate, coating completely. Return to the lined baking sheet and add desired toppings.
  8. Chill until chocolate is set, then serve. Store in the fridge.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, soak cherries in cherry juice or soda instead of liqueur.
  • Use dark chocolate for a richer, less sweet version.
  • Serve cold for the best texture and flavor contrast.
