Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup crushed tortilla chips or red tortilla strips
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (for inside)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (for grilling outside)
- 4 large flour tortillas (burrito-size)
- Butter or oil for grilling
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef. Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Warm tortillas and nacho cheese sauce separately.
- To assemble each burrito, layer rice, seasoned beef, nacho cheese, sour cream, tortilla strips, and shredded cheese in the center of a tortilla.
- Fold in sides and roll tightly into a burrito.
- Sprinkle 1/4 cup shredded cheese onto a skillet over medium heat. Place burrito seam-side down on top. Grill until the cheese melts and sticks to the tortilla.
- Flip and grill other side lightly if desired. Repeat for remaining burritos.
- Serve hot with salsa or extra sour cream.
Notes
- Use a mix of cheddar and Monterey Jack for extra meltiness.
- Warm tortillas before assembling to prevent tearing.
- Add beans or jalapeños for extra flavor and texture.
