- 1 lb sliced beef (flank or sirloin)
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water or beef broth
Instructions
- Heat your wok or large skillet over medium-high heat until very hot.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil, and water or broth. Set aside.
- Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil to the hot pan. Sear beef in batches for 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add remaining oil and toss in broccoli. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until bright green. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds more.
- Return the beef to the pan, pour in the sauce, and stir everything together. Let it simmer for 2 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Toss to coat evenly. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve over rice or noodles, garnished as desired.
