Ingredients
Scale
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup pumpkin purée
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, mix pumpkin purée, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, oil, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Transfer the batter into a piping bag or zip-top bag and fill donut pan wells about ¾ full.
- Bake for 14–16 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk to make the glaze. Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and let set.
Notes
- Don’t overmix the batter for tender donuts.
- Cool completely before glazing to avoid melting the glaze.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container or freeze unglazed for later.
